A wonderfully detailed vintage arpillera textile depicting a lively circus scene, filled with hand-sewn figures, animals, tents, trees and mountains. Tiny dimensional details include performers with yarn hair, a caged lion, giraffes and colorful embroidered stitching throughout.
Created using appliqué, embroidery and layered fabric on a textile ground. The reverse remains unfinished and beautifully reveals the extensive hand stitching and construction of the piece.
Measures approximately 30” × 12”. Unframed and ready to display as textile wall art.
Condition: Vintage, Good. Shows age-related wear, loose threads, fraying and handmade irregularities throughout. These are especially visible on the unfinished reverse. Colors remain vibrant and the dimensional appliqué elements present beautifully. Please review all photographs for condition and detail.
