Up for sale is a rare, beautifully designed 1930s Art Deco ladies' double makeup compact by the renowned New York designer Walter Lampl. This exceptional vanity piece showcases a classic geometric color-blocked enamel exterior in cream and black, centered with an intricately carved green jade/jadeite gemstone medallion secured with a tiny brass prong.
The interior is stamped with Walter Lampl's signature "WL" maker's mark just above the inner door hinge.
This double-compartment case features:
An upper section with a flip-out polished metal mirror and a deep pink cream rouge well.
A lower section with a hinged, fan-scrolled door that unlatches to reveal the loose face powder well.

Condition Details:
Exterior: Great vintage condition. Enamel shows light surface scuffs and minor age wear on the edges. The carved jadeite medallion is intact with no cracks or chips.
Interior: The gold-tone wash retains excellent luster with a few faint oxidation spots. The engine-turned, fan-scrolled patterns are sharp and crisp. Original vintage makeup remnants are present inside both wells.
Functionality: All external and internal hinges are sturdy and aligned. The main case clasp and the inner powder lid latch both click closed securely.
