Vintage Avon Cameo Soap Set – 2 Original Hostess Soaps with Original Presentation Box
Beautiful vintage Avon Cameo Soap Set featuring two ivory/cream-colored oval soaps molded with an elegant raised cameo portrait of a woman.
The soaps come in the original powder-blue Avon presentation box decorated with cream/gold-tone geometric borders and a coordinating cameo portrait on the lid.
The side of the original box reads:
“Avon · Cameo Soap Set”
“Contents: 4 Cakes of Hostess Soap”
The bottom is marked:
“Avon Products, Inc., Dist., New York, N.Y. – Printed in U.S.A.”
PLEASE NOTE: This is an incomplete set. The box originally contained 4 cakes of Hostess Soap; only 2 soaps are included. The two remaining soaps fit into their original divided compartments as shown in the photographs.
The molded cameo details remain very attractive, including the woman's upswept hairstyle, floral accents and draped neckline. These appear to be unused vintage soaps; however, because of their age, they are being sold primarily as a vintage Avon collectible/display item rather than for personal use.
Condition: Vintage condition with age-related wear. The outer box shows some edge/corner wear, surface rubbing, scuffs and other signs of storage consistent with age. The interior also shows some wear. The two soaps show age-related discoloration/toning and minor surface imperfections but retain strong molded cameo detail. Two soaps are missing from the original four-piece set.
