Rare and unusual vintage full-head bear / werebear horror Halloween mask, believed to date approximately from the late 1980s to early 1990s based on its construction and styling. Exact manufacturer, model, and production year remain unidentified.
The mask is constructed as a one-piece molded latex/rubber head with applied black faux fur. One of its most distinctive features is the pair of raised sculpted eyes, which are molded directly as part of the latex mask and painted red. They are NOT separate plastic eye inserts. The wearer's vision openings are located underneath the sculpted eyes.
Features a gray sculpted face, large rounded ears, elongated bear-like muzzle, black nose, open mouth, individually sculpted teeth/fangs, painted red eyes, and extensive black faux fur around the head.
This mask has been researched extensively, but an exact matching example has not yet been positively identified. A modern Metamorph/Maskworld bear mask has some similarities, but differences in the sculpt and eye-opening placement prevent a confident attribution. Therefore, this example is being sold as an unidentified vintage mask rather than attributed to a specific manufacturer.
Because vintage latex naturally deteriorates with age, this item is best suited for a vintage Halloween mask collection, horror display, prop collection, or careful costume use. Please examine all photos carefully before purchase.
Free returns are accepted, and I am confident the item will arrive as described and shown in the photographs.
