Offered here is a pair of vintage Danish freehand briar tobacco pipes attributed to the Preben Holm / Ben Wade style. Both feature the dramatic plateau-rimmed bowls, flowing organic shaping, and beautiful flame grain that made Danish freehand pipes so popular in the 1960s-1980s.
The pipes show attractive grain throughout with natural plateau accents on the rims and shanks. Neither pipe has cracks or chips that I can find. Both appear to have seen relatively light use, with only minor handling marks and finish wear consistent with age and storage.
One original stem is included and fits both pipes. The second pipe is being sold without a stem. A replacement stem could be fitted if desired.
