A whimsical industrial bronze foundry mold depicting a penguin with outstretched wings — believed to have been used in the production of Munsingwear promotional figures or similar novelty castings. the Minneapolis-based maker of underwear and novelty advertising pieces.
Cast in solid bronze with wonderful age and patina from years of foundry use, the mold shows heat tinting, oxidation, and surface scarring consistent with its industrial history. It’s both a relic of mid-century American manufacturing and a charming sculptural accent for display.
