Up for sale is a fantastic piece of authentic service station history: a vintage Brookins No. 695 Galvanized Gasoline Can. Manufactured by the Brookins Division in Mishawaka, Indiana, this heavy-duty can features a seamless drawn body and a double-seamed bottom.
It retains its original vibrant red paint and bold white stenciled text with the classic Brookins logo. The "Convenience Features" graphics detailing the vent cap, flexible spout compatibility, and strainer are fully legible.
Condition Details:
Exterior: Wonderful vintage patina. Shows some authentic paint wear, light surface scuffs, and minor paint loss as pictured, which only adds to its rustic industrial character. No major dents or structural damage. One minor dent at front nozzle.
Handle & Caps: Includes the original wire bail handle with its wooden grip intact. Comes with both threaded caps (the main fill cap and the smaller spout cap).
Interior: Remarkably clean and bright with minimal to no internal corrosion (see photos looking directly into the fill necks). Excellent candidate for display or functional restoration.
