Vintage Chinese Carved Stone Tea Cup & Matching Cocktail/Fruit Picks
A beautiful vintage Chinese export carving set consisting of one hand-carved translucent stone cup accompanied by four matching carved cocktail or fruit picks. The cup and picks share the same pale celadon-green coloration, natural mineral inclusions, and soft waxy polish associated with traditional nephrite carvings.
This set was acquired from an estate approximately a decade ago, before the recent influx of heavily treated and imitation stone carvings that now dominate much of the export market. Based on its age, workmanship, translucency, natural mineral inclusions, and carving characteristics, I believe these pieces are carved from natural nephrite jade. No destructive or gemological testing has been performed, so buyers should make their own determination.
The picks feature elegant stylized leaf or spearhead terminals and were likely intended for serving fruit, tea accompaniments, or cocktails. Together they make a striking display for an Asian art collection, scholar’s table, tea ceremony, or vintage bar.

* Cup: approximately 1¾ inches tall x 1 1/2 inches diameter
* Picks: approximately 2½–3 inches long
Condition
* Cup is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. Believed to date to mid century.
* Picks have natural stone inclusions and expected hand-carving variations.
* Several picks have small chips or losses to the carved leaf tips and/or tapered tails consistent with age and use. Please review all photographs carefully.
