Vintage Crosby Spain Silverplate Grape Vine Pedestal Compote Tazza Centerpiece For Sale

A striking vintageCrosby silverplate pedestal compote / tazza, made in Spain, featuring an ornate sculptural stem wrapped in raised grape clusters, leaves and trailing vines.

The broad, shallow bowl rests above a substantial footed base, creating a dramatic Old World silhouette. The grapevine stem is particularly detailed, with deeply modeled leaves and fruit giving the piece an almost architectural quality.

The underside retains theCrosby S. / Spain maker’s mark.

The silverplate has aged beautifully, with extensive dark patina and areas of plating loss revealing the warmer base metal beneath. Traces of blue-green oxidation are visible around the foot. The piece has been leftunpolished and as found, preserving its naturally timeworn character.

A wonderful decorative object for a collected, European-inspired interior—use as acenterpiece, fruit bowl, pedestal display, catchall, or simply as a sculptural object.

  CONDITION
  Vintage condition withsubstantial patina and silverplate wear/loss, including tarnishing, oxidation, discoloration, surface marks and areas of exposed base metal. Blue-green oxidation/verdigris is present along portions of the base. These signs of age are clearly visible in the photographs and contribute to the piece’s distinctive timeworn appearance.
