New chromeware utility bowl in original box, made in Batavia, NY in the 1960s by Doehler-Jarvis Division, National Lead Company. This was given to my aunt when she was the Secretary to the City Manager. It has never been used, in original packaging.Bowl measures 6\" across and about 1 1/4\" high.
This utility bowl was made by Doehler-Jarvis, once the largest custom die caster in the world. They produced a line of Chromeware like this bowl that were produced in die cast zinc with chrome plating. Logo on the bottom includes the Dutch boy rendering, and Doehler-Jarvis Div. National Lead Co. Their Chromeware line probably ended completely before 1980.
The insert suggests some uses: \"to serve jams, jellies, nuts or cold desserts... for flowers... a finger bowl... as a decorative piece. Elegant - Practical - Beautiful\"
It has been stored in a smoke-free, pet-free home for many years.
