Up for sale/sale is a beautiful, highly collectible Gerber Trencher round serving tray and carving board. Designed by Richard Hudson for Gerber Legendary Blades in Portland, Oregon (U.S. Patent No. 2,655,018), this classic piece of mid-century modern Americana is crafted from premium, gorgeous Solid American Walnut.
This is the rare, oversized 15-inch variant, which provides ample surface area compared to the more common smaller versions. It features a subtly sloped \"trencher\" center designed to catch juices when carving meats, bounded by a seamlessly curved, raised lip.
Pristine / Excellent Vintage Condition. This piece appears to have been used almost exclusively for display or very light serving.- Surface: The front serving/carving face is incredibly smooth with practically zero knife gouges, deep scratches, or water rings.
- Back: The reverse side shows clean, tight structural seams. Both original gold foil labels (\"Gerber Legendary Blades\" and \"Solid American Walnut\") are fully intact and beautifully preserved.
- Finish: The wood retains its deep, vibrant, rich amber lustre and has never been dried out or bleached.
