Vintage Glass Fruit & Cake Knife – “Marlin” Engraved – Original Box
Unusual vintage clear glass fruit and cake knife complete with its original Kitchen Novelty Company box and printed instructions.
The glass blade is personally engraved “Marlin,” a surname associated with the family from which this piece originated. The engraving appears to be personalization rather than a manufacturer’s mark.
The original box identifies the piece as a “Glass Fruit & Cake Knife” and advertises it for slicing oranges, lemons and tomatoes, preparing grapefruit, and cutting cakes and meringue pies. The packaging also promotes the glass knife as sanitary, odorless, and resistant to staining or discoloration.
