This is a ceramic figurine by the West German company Goebel, depicting a male Common Redstart bird. It is identified by the Cotendorf mold number CV 31 impressed on the base of the piece. The bird is modeled in a dynamic pose, resting on a small, white base with its tail feathers cocked high. The glazes feature rich, naturalistic colors, including a glossy black head and back, a distinct white patch on the crown, and warm, burnt orange coloring on the breast and tail. This piece bears the TMK-3 mark, which dates its manufacture to the 1960 to 1972 timeframe.
