Vintage Haida Thunderbird Native American Rawhide Hand Drum 14" Clarence Wells
Authentic, vintage Pacific North Coast decorative hand drum with rope handles still attached. This piece features striking, traditional artwork intricately hand-painted in classic black, red, and cream pigments. The motif showcases a powerful Thunderbird soaring above a native salmon.
The face of the drum is hand-signed on the lower left by the highly acclaimed late contemporary Canadian First Nations artist, Clarence A. Wells (1950-2025) from the Gitxsan Clan of the Tsimshian nation.
Dimensions: Approximately 14 inches in diameter and 1/1/2 inches deep
Materials: Taut rawhide drumhead stretched over a sturdy round wooden frame, complete with decorative braided side rope handles
Condition:Very good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear.The graphic remains incredibly crisp and vibrant. The rawhide skin is tightly stretched with no cracks, tears, splits or major damage. A highly collectible beautiful piece of Northwest Coast Indigenous art ideal for cultural art displays or fine home decor.
