Vintage Haitian hand-carved wooden plaque or decorative charger.
Solid tropical hardwood disk with incised and inlaid design. Front shows a stylized bird with a striped shield on its chest, five-pointed stars, floral/rose motifs, and the word “HAITI” carved along the bottom. Reverse features a large four-pointed star / compass-rose design with a central circle.
Approximate size: 16.5–17 inches in diameter (see tape-measure photo). Thickness is typical for these mid-century Haitian pieces (roughly 1/2–3/4 inch).
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. There is a crack through the top rim visible on both sides. Surface scratches, finish wear, and some discoloration/white residue spots on the reverse (especially in the star inlay). Displays nicely on a stand or as wall decor. Photos show the actual item.
These large carved Haitian wood pieces were popular souvenirs and folk-art exports from the 1960s–1980s. Unique patriotic design compared with the more common village or leaf-tray examples.
