The figure has a charming rustic character with visible hand-carved details throughout the face, clothing, hands, hair, shoes, and the object being held. The painted finish shows natural age-related wear and patina, which adds to its vintage folk-art appearance.
The underside of the shoes has carved markings/initials. One appears to read “AY,” while the second appears to read either “BU” or “80.” The maker, country of origin, and exact age have not been confirmed.
