Charming vintage hand-carved wooden squirrel with wonderful carved detail and a large curled tail.
The squirrel has painted eyes, subtle hand-painted coloring, and attractive carved texture throughout the body and tail. Its simple, expressive design gives it lots of woodland character.
There is no maker’s mark. The underside has the residue and outline of a small oval paper label that is no longer present, so the maker and country of origin are unknown.
Measures approximately 2¼" high x 3" long.
A sweet older wooden animal that would make a lovely addition to a collection of vintage wooden animals, woodland figures, German-style folk art, or hand-carved miniatures.
