Up for sale is a beautiful vintage hand-painted ceramic art tile featuring a charming provincial folk art motif. The glaze showcases a finely detailed, multi-color illustration of a mother in country dress carrying water vessels on her back while leading a small child by the hand. The scene is anchored by elegant, hand-painted geometric floral emblems flanking each of the four corners.
The reverse side shows a distinct vintage industrial mold with four recessed alignment notches and an incised production number "79" stamped into the clay body.
Condition
***NOTE: there is a small chip on the upper left edge, see photos. Otherwise, excellent vintage condition with highly vibrant, intact glazes. Front face with no prominent crazing or surface scratches.
Minimal residual material/marking on the unfinished back from historic mounting, which does not affect display quality.
