These unique folk art pieces feature hand-painted depictions of New Orleans jazz musicians playing next to classic Bourbon Street lamp posts. They are painted directly on authentic historic roofing slates salvaged from the French Quarter (Vieux Carré) in New Orleans.

Larger Slate: Signed "LAICHE '83" (Vivian E. Laiche / Pierre Louis Laiche) on the front bottom. Features a silhouette of a musician next to a Bourbon St lamp post. Measures approximately 16 inches tall. Includes attached paper history backing explaining the heritage of the Vieux Carré roof slate.

Smaller Slate: Signed "MB '88" on the front bottom. Features a musician in a yellow jacket playing a horn by a Bourbon St. lamp post with the phrase "Way Down Yonder In New Orleans". Measures approximately 12 inches tall. Includes wire hanger on top and authentic history paper label attached to the back.
