Vintage Hawaii State Flag 3 x 5 Valley Forge Flag Co 100% Cotton Union Jack For Sale

Hawaii state flag in 100% cotton, made by Valley Forge Flag Co. of Spring City, Pennsylvania. Eight sewn cotton stripes of white, red and blue with the Union Jack in the canton. A sewn label on the white cotton heading reads Best, 3 Ft. x 5 Ft., 100% Cotton, Valley Forge Flag Co., Spring City, PA, and HAWAII is hand marked in pen on the heading. Two brass grommets. Mid twentieth century, likely 1960s, though no date is marked. Measures approximately 58 by 32 inches. Condition: used, with age patina. The white stripes show gray and yellow spotting and toning, the heading is mottled gray with a brown stain near the top, and there is a thin dark dye line at the joins of the blue and red stripes. There is light fraying at the fly corner of the top white stripe and loose thread ends at the hoist corners. The reds and blues are strong in color. Stitching is intact and both grommets are present, with tarnish on the brass.
