Wonderful vintage Heisey Glass No. 4225 Cobel 1 Pint Cocktail Shaker featuring the dramatic figural Rooster Head stopper and factory etched “Us” decoration.
Designed by Ray C. Cobel, this clever three-piece all-glass shaker was created with precision ground glass joints, eliminating the metal fittings commonly found on period cocktail shakers. The set consists of the 1-pint crystal shaker body, removable glass strainer with pouring lip, and the impressive molded Rooster Head stopper. It stands approximately 11 inches tall when assembled.
The “Us” etching is especially desirable and was part of Heisey’s whimsical cocktail grouping associated with companion rooster cocktail glasses etched “You” and “Me.” The detailed rooster stopper, with its oversized comb, molded feathers, eye, beak and wattle, gives this shaker tremendous Art Deco-era personality and display appeal.
The shaker presents beautifully with bright, clear crystal. There is a chip on the glass strainer, which is clearly shown in the photographs. The chip is concealed when the shaker is fully assembled and does not detract significantly from its impressive display appearance. Please review all photographs carefully for condition and detail.
