A vintage hand-painted wooden tray in the traditional Hindeloopen Dutch folk art style. The tray features a deep red ground with elaborate floral sprays and scrolling leaves, executed with the bold colors and decorative brushwork for which Hindeloopen painting is known. Signed to the back with the HB mark, it reflects the mid-20th century revival of this centuries-old painting tradition. Both functional and decorative, it serves beautifully as a serving tray or wall-hanging accent piece.
