What makes this piece truly special is the history stamped right on the bottom. It features the highly collectible, original red ink hallmark:
'HAND PAINT JAPAN' nestled between a large stylized 'H' and 'T'. This identifies it as an authentic creation from the Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. Pottery company, dating back to the 1920s or 1930s. Finding pieces from this era that survived the war intact is becoming harder and harder every day.
