DescriptionStunning vintage hand-carved and hand-painted wooden horse believed to be Indian/Rajasthani folk art.This substantial piece measures approximately 20” tall × 19” long × 6” wide and features a dramatic arched neck, raised front leg, expressive painted face, carved mane and elaborate ceremonial-style saddle and bridle.Beautifully decorated in black, gold, dusty pink, blue, green and red with intricate hand-painted and carved details. The horse is constructed from multiple individually carved wooden pieces that have been assembled together, characteristic of this style of traditional folk-art construction.The removable/detachable wooden tail fits into the rear of the horse with a wooden peg.This is a wonderful statement piece for a folk-art collection, eclectic or global-inspired interior, equestrian decor, or as a distinctive display sculpture.Condition:
