This is a vintage Japanese Banko ware ikebana vase produced by Omiya Toen.

Finished in a vivid yellow glaze, the vase features a bold, flowing form with an asymmetrical opening. Its sculptural silhouette reflects the expressive character of Japanese modern ceramic design and complements resembles Mid-Century Modern and Space Age aesthetics aesthetics.

A distinctive feature of this piece is its versatile two-way design. It can be placed horizontally and used as a low suiban-style ikebana vessel, or displayed upright as a a sculptural vase. Each orientation creates a noticeably different appearance and offers a variety of possibilities for floral arrangements and interior styling.
