Up for sale is a beautiful matching pair of vintage Japanese blue and white porcelain (sometsuke) shallow dishes. These pieces are molded into a traditional, elegant boat shape (funagata-zara).Design & Details:

Motif:Features a lovely, hand-painted traditionalSansuilandscape scene. The artwork depicts stylized pine trees along a shore with cursive, flying birds overhead.
Marking:The bottom of each dish is marked with a hand-painted underglaze blue, stylized"Fuku" (福) character seal, which translates directly to"Good Fortune" or "Happiness."This traditional mark is highly characteristic of historical Arita / Imari kiln styles
Function:Historically used as shallow appetizer or dipping dishes, these are perfect today for serving sushi, sashimi, sides, or utilizing as beautiful trinket dishes.
