This is a vintage Japanese Painted Porcelain Bisque Penny Doll. There is no date stamp but research shows it is close to 100 years old!
* 1920s & 1930s: This was the peak period for Japanese production of these dolls.
* Early 20th Century: Japan began to export dolls to the U.S. market after World War I, when the traditional European supply of dolls was cut off.
