Stunning vintage Japanese pure silk Iro-Uchikake bridal wedding kimono featuring an exceptionally vibrant red ground with extensive dimensional embroidery and metallic gold detailing.
This elaborate traditional Japanese wedding garment features Gosho-guruma (imperial court carriages), matsu (pine), ume (plum blossoms), stylized wave motifs, and intricate gold geometric patterns.
The imperial court carriages are beautifully rendered in substantial multicolor embroidery with metallic gold, green, turquoise blue, lavender, white, red and black detailing. Large embroidered pine trees and white plum blossoms continue throughout the garment, creating an exceptionally rich and dimensional design.
The interior textile label is marked 正絹 (shōken), the Japanese designation for pure/genuine silk. An additional two-character Japanese marking is present and appears consistent with 紫光 (Shikō); however, this maker attribution has not been independently authenticated and is not guaranteed.
Features a traditional heavily padded metallic gold hem characteristic of formal Japanese uchikake wedding garments.

Also included is the traditional Japanese tatōshi kimono storage wrapper in which the garment was found. The wrapper bears おあつらえ / o-atsurae calligraphy and a red seal-style design. Storage wrapper shows age, wrinkles and handling/storage wear.
