These are traditional Japanese solid ink sticks used for calligraphy (Shodo), brush painting, and other traditional Japanese art.
Each ink stick features beautiful traditional decorative details with gold and blue lettering.

These ink sticks are unused and have been stored in a warehouse for many years.
Although they have never been used, due to their age and long-term storage, there are signs of aging and storage, including scratches, surface wear, discoloration, fading, marks, and wear to the decorative finish.
Condition varies slightly between the six pieces.
One piece has part of an old paper seal/label remaining.
