Vintage mid-20th-century Japanese yellow ground cloisonne glass enamel cabinet vase, likely Sato
The vase features an incredibly vibrant, rich imperial yellow ground decorated with detailed, intricately detailed Japanese pink and white cherry blossoms.
Mounted with a silver top and bottom rim, the body of the vase consists of embossed foil (ginbari) covered with layers of glossy transparent yellow glass enamel (akasuke) and hand painted with an opaque floral design.
Approximately 6" x 5"
Excellent vintage condition overall. No cracks, chips, bruises or repairs.
Consistent with hand-crafted cloisonne of this era, there are minor manufacturing pinholes and surface pitting from the original firing and polishing process (visible under close inspection). The metal rims show light, authentic age-appropriate patina. Please review all photos as they form part of the physical description.
A striking piece of Asian art pottery perfect for any cloisonne collector.
