Up for sale is a stunning, authentic lot of three (3) vintage hand-carved Kenyan Kisii soapstone lidded boxes from the early 1990s. Each piece serves dual functionality as a striking tribal mask sculpture for display and a hidden trinket box.

Carved from native Kenyan soapstone, these pieces feature beautiful natural variegations in the stone, ranging from warm earthy terracotta and cream tones to deep, polished greys and blacks. The intricate, etched geometric and spiral patterns highlight the exceptional skill of the African artisan folk art tradition.

Provenance Note: This lot will ship securely packaged in the original early 1990s Kenyan newspaper that the Kisii artisans originally wrapped them in, preserving the exact history and journey of these pieces.
