This beautiful and elaborate Venetian Carnevale mask is a vintage piece made in Italy. It is hand made from paper mache\' and highly embellished with metallic coated lace and rhinestones and a tassel dangling off the top. There is no maker\'s mark or signature found. It has been hanging as a decorative piece in a home. The previous owner adapted the back to be able to hang the mask on a wall, so glued on a cord to hang it by. Otherwise, the mask is in very good condition. There are some small areas of discoloration from age. Does not appear to be missing any stones, no cracks or chips.
Unknown how old the mask is but likely at least 40+ years, possibly more. It may have been vintage when it was purchased by the previous owner in the late 1970\'s or early 1980\'s.
The mask is large, 14 inches long by 8 inches wide.
