ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale arare vintage \"cattail\" lamp that was designed by Bill Curry for Design Line Inc. Circa \'60s. The lamp features twelve (12) evenly spaced metal rods that are staggered in height, and each is capped off with a different colored cattail (see photos). They are all attached to a metal ring at the bottom which sits inside a black metal weighted base. There is a ribbed beige collar made of plastic that goes around them at the base which is designed to allow the cattails to keep their upright positioning. The lamp has a red on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the base for functionality. The lamp still retains its original Design Line Inc. labelling on the inside of the metal base (see photos). It\'s a wonderful example of a rare lamp that is suitable for all interior settings.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 44.5\" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the tallest cattail). The base is approx. 5\" in diameter.
CONDITION: Very good condition. There are a few small spots of paint loss on the cattails (see photos). In our opinion, they are very minor given the age of the lamp. One can very easily touch up the missing paint, or just leave them as they are. We didn\'t attempt to touch them up as they didn\'t bother us at all. The ribbed plastic color at the bottom of the lamp is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. It directly surrounds the lightbulb, so there may have been a hint of darkening of the material, but again, nothing major at all. Most of the time these end up missing altogether or are in really bad shape. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape - there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As is the case with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. Being sold \"as-is\", and \"as-described\".
