This item is a genuine vintage MCM Ken Ocorr ceramic table lamp from the 1960s-1970s. It features his signature tufted "orb" mold body, stylized with an ornate Hollywood Regency style pedastal base. Collectors seek out his lamps with the translucent amber glass marbles embedded into the glossy ceramic top, which create a beautiful glowing ambient light when turned on. The rare butter soft yellow color with the glass amber marbles makes it look like a piece of art even when not lit up.
Having the visible "Ken Ocorr" inscription or stamp on the bottom drastically increases its collectibility and value, distinguishing it from the unsigned hobbyist ceramic molds of the same era.
Ken Ocorr was an American ceramic artist and mold designer active during the mid-to-late 20th century, widely known for producing Mid-Century Modern (MCM) studio pottery and slipcast ceramic molds. His work spanned from the 1960s through the 1980s, gaining popularity among hobbyist ceramicists who poured, fired, and hand-painted his signature designs.
