Striking vintage San Pacific (SP) San Francisco decorative marlin/swordfish sculpture featuring a beautifully shaped dark wood body accented with detailed brass-tone metal fins, tail, head and long bill.
The fish is displayed in a dynamic swimming position on a brass support mounted to a rectangular dark wood base. The brass elements feature attractive engraved detailing, giving the piece a wonderful Mid-Century Modern / Hollywood Regency nautical look.
The underside retains its original foil label reading:
SAN PACIFIC – SP – SAN FRANCISCO – MADE IN KOREA
Likely dating from the 1970s–1980s, this design is closely related to similar Korean-made wood-and-brass marine sculptures frequently attributed to Frederick Cooper.
