Taken by Neil Armstrong, the image is particularly celebrated for the extraordinary reflection visible in Aldrin's gold-plated visor. Looking closely, Armstrong himself can be seen taking the photograph, together with the Lunar Module Eagle, the American flag and the lunar landscape. Because Armstrong was behind the camera for most of the Apollo 11 surface photographs, his reflection in Aldrin's visor makes this image especially significant.
