Unused, and in storage over 50 years, is this vintage ERN 12” carbon steel blade chef knife. It is quite rare to find a vintage Ern 12” carbon steel chef knife in such fine condition.
The knife features a full tang without bolster.
Not having been stored in a climate controlled warehouse, some spotting on blade, but no rust. The triple riveted handle is tight, and Ern logo sticker is affixed. It is in excellent condition. Light spotting at spine , and a few small spots on blade(as shown in pics), in no way interferes with the sharpness of the blade. The rainbow patina is something to behold. The Ern name and logo are stamped on blade.
Special care is required with carbon steel knives. They must be dried immediately after washing to prevent rust. Frequent oiling will also prevent the effects of moisture.
It would be very hard to find a knife like this in such fine condition.
