This colorful Scottish couple is dressed in traditional-inspired attire, complete with plaid kilts and jaunty hats. The lady figure wears a vivid cobalt blue jacket and blue tam with a yellow accent, while her male companion wears a mottled green jacket, bright red-orange kilt and cap and carries a set of bagpipes over the shoulder.
The details are delightful - from the hand-painted tartan patterns and tiny shoes to their expressive faces and colorful clothing. Shaker openings are incorporated into the tops of their hats.
Both pieces are stamped OCCUPIED JAPAN in red on the underside and retain their cork stoppers. The Occupied Japan marking dates these pieces to the period of Allied occupation following World War II, 1945–1952.
They measure approximately 3.75 inches tall. These are genuine vintage pieces and considering their 75+ years of age, they are in remarkably good condition, with minimal age related wear. Both original-style cork stoppers remain in place. No chips, cracks or repairs are noted. Please review all photos carefully for condition and details.
