This strange and unique vintage carving is quite imposing, standing 22\" tall. This is an enchanting piece of art that photographs simply can\'t do justice to. I have owned it for about 5 years, beyond that its origin is a mystery. I have never seen anything else quite like it. This piece of artwork incorporates painting as well as gold gilding. The peeling bark gives it a very unique patina that adds to its charm. This one of a kind piece of folk art is reminiscent of works by Kent Gutzmer, and others in the \"Outsider Art\" movement. The piece has a very small and unsteady wooden base. It needs to be glued to a larger base of wood, stone, or some other material. I considered doing it, but ultimately decided the final owner should be the one to choose the base.
