Original Humpty Dumpty Potato Chips 3 lb tin litho can with its matching lid. Classic mid-century country-store graphics — cobalt blue body with a yellow sunburst panel, the grinning Humpty Dumpty character in his red derby and polka-dot bow tie hauling a sack of potatoes, and the red-outlined brand lettering across the top.
Both sides carry slogan text: "GOOD FOR YOU and the KIDDIES, TOO!" on one face and "A TREAT THAT CAN'T BE BEAT" on the other. Ingredient line reads potatoes, vegetable shortening and/or oil, salt, with NET WEIGHT 3 LBS and the National Potato Chip Institute seal. A side panel advertises the company's other products including pop corn, potato sticks and cheese corn.
Condition: honest, displayable used condition. Colors remain bright and the graphics read clearly from across a room. Present are surface scuffs and scratches, some paint loss along the rim and bottom edge, light denting, and scattered brown staining/spotting over the white label areas — heaviest on the "Potato Chips" panel. Rim shows crimping and bare metal wear. Lid is present and fits, with wear and light rust speckling on the top. Interior is clean gold-tone lacquer with light surface marks. No holes.
