Unusual vintage PIC 539 fixed-blade knife, manufactured in Mora, Sweden by KJ Eriksson for the U.S. importer PIC / Precise International Corporation.
Specialist Mora references identify the PIC 539 as a private-label KJ Eriksson knife dating broadly to the 1950s–1960s, closely related to the company's traditional Scout-pattern knives.
What makes this example particularly interesting is the hand-carved and painted wooden handle. The handle has been personalized with a stylized human face, including carved facial features and remnants of red, blue, pink, black and other painted decoration.
The carving and paint appear to be an owner-applied folk-art customization rather than factory decoration, and it is being offered as found. It gives this example a distinctive one-of-a-kind character beyond the standard PIC 539 knife.

Condition:
Good, well-used vintage condition with plenty of honest age and character. Blade shows surface oxidation, patina, scratches and evidence of use/sharpening. The guard has age wear and appears somewhat bent or reshaped. Wooden handle shows expected scratches, surface wear, small losses and substantial wear to the old painted decoration. The carved face remains very visible and gives the knife considerable display appeal.
No attempt has been made to restore or refinish the knife. Please review all photographs closely, including the detailed blade, handle, guard and measurement images, as they are an important part of the condition description.
