This is a vintage solid brass ship's gimbal candle holder (also known as a swinging chamberstick or rat de cave) designed to stay level when carried or mounted as a sconce. This is a beautiful brass candlestick with lovely details, in good condition, but it does have a couple of spots on the base. Please see pictures for details. It’s approximately 7” tall and 6” wide.
