Take a look at this fantastic black and white view of the High Railroad Bridge spanning the Mississippi River in Minneapolis Minnesota. A long passenger train is chugging its way across the massive steel structure while quaint houses sit peacefully nestled in the river valley below. While the front is a great piece of industrial topography the back of this card is an absolute treat. It features a completely unhinged message from a sender named John who casually threatens to cut off a rabbit tail and put it in the recipients bed before aggressively questioning her current relationship status. The card shows its age with some standard corner softening typical edge wear and overall age toning but the incredibly bold and slightly chaotic handwritten message makes this a wildly fun piece of postal history.

The impressive bridge shown here is officially known as the Short Line Bridge and it was built by the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul Railway. The massive steel structure towering over the Mississippi River gorge was considered a total engineering marvel when it was completed in the eighteen eighties because it finally allowed heavy passenger trains to completely bypass the congested downtown switching yards and speed right across the river.
