Vintage RPPC Imperial German Soldiers Pickelhaube Helmets Horseback Real Photo
Take a look at this brilliant real photo postcard capturing a group of men on horseback out in a field. Three of the riders are decked out in Imperial German military uniforms complete with swords and those iconic spiked Pickelhaube helmets. Please note that the massive DavidLynch watermark stamped across the images is just a digital watermark on our scan and is not actually printed on the physical photograph you will receive. This unposted card has a wonderfully clean back but does show its age on the front with a noticeable surface smudge running down through the sky above the riders as well as some standard corner softening. It is a fantastic military artifact that belongs in a serious collection.

If you look closely at the lineup you will notice something quite funny about the group dynamic. While three of the men are sitting tall in full imposing military regalia the man on the far left completely missed the uniform memo. He is casually riding his horse wearing a standard civilian suit and a flat cap. Whether he was a local dignitary a horse trainer or just a well dressed civilian who crashed the military photoshoot it adds a highly unusual and charming contrast to an otherwise strict military portrait.
