Vintage Reinhold Merkelbach Lidded Relief Beer Stein – Schloss Vaduz (Mold #3645)
Description: Up for sale is a beautiful, highly detailed vintage German stoneware beer stein crafted by the renowned manufacturer Reinhold Merkelbach in Höhr-Grenzhausen.
This collectible stein features a vibrant, multi-colored relief depiction of Schloss Vaduz (Vaduz Castle), the historic alpine residence of the Princely Family of Liechtenstein. The relief work is exceptionally sharp, highlighted by classic cobalt blue panels, floral borders, and a textured faux-wood handle. It comes complete with its original ornate, conical pewter lid and functioning thumb lift.
Markings on Bottom:
- "RM" inside a shield outline: The official manufacturer mark for Reinhold Merkelbach.
- Mold Number 3645: Incised into the base.
- Finisher's Mark: Hand-incised craftsman's mark at the bottom center.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs to the ceramic body. The pewter lid is securely attached, fits cleanly, and the hinge works perfectly. The colors remain bright and vibrant. (Note: Please carefully review all photos to confirm the item's condition before offerding/
