This beautiful wooden plate carries a special piece of our family history.
It was given to my father as a gift by his cousin, who was living in Romania at the time. My father carefully kept it in our family for many years, preserving both the plate and the memory connected to it.
Believed to date from the 1970s, this vintage Romanian folk art plate features a hand-painted portrait of a young woman wearing traditional clothing and a headscarf. The portrait is surrounded by colorful geometric and floral-inspired folk patterns in red, turquoise, yellow, green, and brown.
The plate is made of wood and still retains its original paper label from Asociația Economică Intercooperatistă Arad, Romania. The original label adds wonderful authenticity and historical character to this collectible piece.
