Vintage Studio Photo ADORABLE LITTLE GIRL DRESSED IN WOOLENS Harpers New Orleans:
$16.95

Up for sale is an ORIGINAL studio photo of what has to be the cutest, most adorable little girl ever. She is probably about 1 year old and is posed standing and holding on to a chair. She is wearing very heavy clothing (woolens) and a wool bonnet and she is wearing white shoes. She has thick curly hair. This photo measures about 9.875 inches tall by about 7.875 inches wide (effectively an 8 x 10 photo). It is oriented vertically. It has a matte type finish.
The photo was taken at Harpers Studio, 151 Baronne St (located in New Orleans, Louisiana). It is not dated, and the subject is not identified.
A clue as to the date can be gained from the photographer's phone number: MAin 4072. According to a phone exchange table originally compiled by David Grant in 1978 and published by the New Orleans Public Library, the MAin exchange was in use between 1879 and 1937; in 1938, MAin was converted to MAgnolia. Thus, assuming the photographer did not neglect to update his telephone number when the conversion occurred, this photo was likely taken prior to the end of 1937. (The phone exchange table is available online at the website of nutrias.org.)I found this photo in an album from an estate just outside New Orleans. It was loose in the album (not taped or glued). Most of the photos in the album were from the 1930s and 1940s. There were no other copies of this photo and there was no negative.Attention US Buyers: I will ship using USPS Ground Advantage or using a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope, your choice.
