This isn't just an object—it's a little mystery.
For as long as I can remember, my family used it as a tiny bud vase.
But when I started researching it before listing it for sale, I realized there might be more to its story. Because of its substantial weight, broad stable base, and glazed interior, Google Lens suggested it could be a mid-20th-century ceramic inkwell. Others might see it as a small candlestick or simply a piece of studio pottery.
The maker's mark carved into the base only deepened the mystery. I spent quite a while trying to identify the potter, but unfortunately I couldn't read the signature. Perhaps someone with more knowledge will recognize it.
Whatever its original purpose, it is a beautifully made handmade ceramic piece with a timeless minimalist form. Now we're ready to pass this little mystery on to its next owner.
