Vintage Swedish architectural coin bank made for Göteborgs Sparbank (Gothenburg Savings Bank).
The bank is designed as Skansen Kronan, the historic 17th-century fortress in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Made by EOS Jönköping, Sweden and marked underneath. Individually numbered No. 3596.
These types of savings banks were traditionally issued by banks to encourage saving. The bank itself often kept the key, and customers brought the coin bank back to the bank when it was time to open it and deposit the savings. Therefore, surviving examples are often found without their original key.
A substantial and decorative Swedish collectible with great architectural detail.
