This unique multi-chambered instrument is a stunning example of Latin American folk art, showcasing deep, high-relief hand carvings.
The front of the flute features a highly detailed stylized human face alongside a coiled snake that wraps around the central column.
The reverse side is flat, engineered with built-in clay feet/nodes that allow the piece to sit securely on a flat surface for display. It functions as a playable duct flute/ocarina, featuring a tapered mouthpiece on one end, a hollow sound exit chamber with decorative stamped circle details on the base, and open tone holes along the body for pitch modulation. There are no visible maker\'s marks or signatures, which is common for artisan folk pottery.
